Overview

Rollplay (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a companion for tabletop play that connects a web app, a Chrome extension, and an API. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Data we collect and use

• Session and gameplay data: When you use the app (create sessions, send messages, use the extension with D&D Beyond), we process and store data necessary to run your session (e.g., session IDs, transcripts, character snapshots). This is used to provide the service and improve the experience.
• Device / anonymous identifiers: We may use a local or server-generated identifier (e.g., a user or device id) to associate your activity with a session or account. We do not use this to track you across unrelated sites or services.
• Extension data: The Chrome extension may read data from D&D Beyond pages you choose to use it on (e.g., character name, race, class) only when you are in an active session. This data is sent to our API to support the game master experience and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

Data we do not sell

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or to build advertising profiles.

Third-party services

We use third-party services to operate the app (e.g., hosting, real-time messaging). Those providers process data on our behalf under agreements that limit use to providing the service. We may use AI services to power game master features; prompts and responses may be processed according to those providers’ policies.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your data (e.g., HTTPS, secure configuration). We retain session and usage data only as long as needed to operate the service and as required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can stop using the app and the extension at any time. You may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data depending on your jurisdiction; contact us (see below) to exercise them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
